The Show Must Go On

The Shows Must Go On features a spectacular song list of your favourite toe-tapping numbers from the world’s greatest musicals including The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, Hairspray, Dreamgirls, The Greatest Showman, We Will Rock You and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. So, no one told you life was gonna be this way, nor did they tell you about the hilarious new musical that lovingly lampoons one of TV’s all-time greatest shows in the hit New York and Las Vegas show Friends! The Musical Parody.

Sam Bartells – Lets Go Tour

New Zealand rock-country singer/songwriter Sam Bartells is ready to hit the road for three dates this October, taking in Whangarei on Friday 2nd October, before heading to Hamilton on Saturday 3rd October and finishing in Auckland on the following Friday 9th October at the Anthology Lounge.

LET’S GO is Sam Bartells debut EP, recorded in Nashville at Sound Kitchen Studios after a trip there last September set the wheels in motion for this talented rock-country artist. Fueled by fight, passion and purpose, his unique blend of alt-rock and country music is filled with grit and raw emotion, an authenticity captured by Dr Ford and now ready to be shared with arms open wide to a live audience.

BENEE

Due to overwhelming demand, Auckland indie-pop phenomenon and rising global superstar BENEE has announced a second Spark Arena show in Auckland alongside a run of headline shows for New Zealand in October.

Benee will perform four headline shows across New Zealand starting at the Christchurch Town Hall on Friday, October 2 followed by performances in Dunedin, Wellington and Auckland on October 1,2,3, 8, 9, 10 and 16, 17 respectively.

Gramsci

In October rock trio Gramsci will take to the stage to perform the new critically lauded album ‘INHERITANCE’ in its entirety on Friday 16th October at Auckland’s ASB Waterfront theatre.

The live show will be an immersive listening experience featuring curated audio-visual content for each of the album’s ten tracks, plus a selection of earlier Gramsci material. Buy Tickets – 0800 282 849

White Chapel Jak – Return of the Jak Tour – Tuning Fork

It’s time to celebrate the end of lockdown and the return of White Chapel Jak, who kick-off their “Return of the Jak – Here’s to us Nu Zuland!” live music tour this August to December 2020.

Coming to Auckland on the 17th October at The Tuning Fork. Known for putting an acoustic, funk-groove spin on upbeat songs everyone knows and loves, their 13-stop tour will include a number of North Island locations before the end of the year including Auckland, Rotorua, Mt Maunganui, Upper Hutt, Mangawhai, Coromandel, Napier, Leigh, Whangarei, and Warkworth.

Love is for the beautiful – Auckland Charity Gig

Plastic Groove in association with Lifeline Aotearoa present a fantastic line-up of Alternative Rock bands to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention.

On Saturday 17th October at Neck of The Woods, Auckland we have Animalhead, Skinny Hobos and Voodoo Bloo.

Rory McDonald from Voodoo Bloo wanted to raise awareness and funding for Lifeline and will achieve this by performing charity gigs.

Rory himself has suffered with mental illness and has found ways with his music to overcome so difficult periods in his life. Come along and support the cause and enjoy the show with your friends and family!

Elemental Nights – MAALA with Imugi

Unique to Elemental AKL, Elemental Nights is an exclusive curated concert series showcasing an impressive line-up of emerging and high-profile local artists.

Having Beats 1 Radio host Zane Lowe dub his first album, MAALA (Evan Sinton) returns with his latest project Water Overhead. Submerged in the world of Water Overhead, Evan prepares to share a body of work that feels personal, yet intrinsic and familiar to all who have grappled with the ebb and flow of human emotion, this new record is a tribute to healing the heart and mind.

Elemental AKL will see one of MAALA’S first live performances of this new project at Hopetoun Alpha, CBD Auckland on the 15th October.

Elemental Nights – Leisure

In a world preoccupied with instant gratification and overnight success, LEISURE is taking the scenic route. The five members formed in 2015 are all award-winning songwriters, producers and creatives in their own right. Following two album releases, 130+ million streams, a collaboration with Goldlink, and sold out dates throughout New Zealand, Australia, the UK and Europe, the outlook’s pretty fine.

2020’s Side A marks a new chapter in LEISURE’s journey. Their lyrics explore the nuances of romance and relationships, while their sound pulls from influences as broad as Japanese city pop to Bill Withers. Catch them on 17th October at Hopetoun Alpha, CBD Auckland.

Elemental Nights – OPOSSOM & King Sweeties

Bic Runga and Cass Basil (Tiny Ruins, Carnivorous Plant Society) have combined their considerable talents to form KING SWEETIES.

With Cass on bass and Bic on drums, King Sweeties songs are built off the duo’s bouncing rhythm section, cooking up a playful post-punk strut. Their first single ʼLetʼs Just Stay in Bed’, has made the top 20 list for the APRA Silver Scrolls song competition. It is off their forthcoming EP ‘We are the Bossesʼ.

Elemental AKL will be the first opportunity for audiences to see King Sweeties share this project live on the 20th October at Hopetoun Alpha, CBD Auckland.

Elemental Nights – Coup De Main

New Zealand’s leading pop-culture magazine, Coup De Main, is excited to present a special night of some of our favorite local artists – curated by CDM just for you! Headlined by acoustic pop darling Paige, with performances from rising acts Maxwell Young and Josie Moon.

Elemental Nights – Daffodils

Coming to Elemental AKL, rising indie stars DAFFODILS on the 22nd October. The Auckland four-piece stepped into the spotlight with the release of their 2017 debut single, “Two Angels”. 2018 saw the group release a trio of tracks and were signed by the UK’s Kartel Music Group.

The Beths – Jump Rope Gazers Tour

After selling out Auckland’s Powerstation in just six days, Auckland’s indie faves The Beths announce a nationwide tour in support of their new record Jump Rope Gazers. The tour will see The Beths criss-cross New Zealand for 12 dates. Coming to Auckland at the Town hall on 6th November.

With the imminent release of Jump Rope Gazers, The Beths have been connecting with their global fan base via their popular “Live from House” livestreams, but it’s the New Zealand fans that get the first chance to hear the new album live and The Beths can’t wait to get on the road to visit cities they’ve played before and some brand new towns. Catch them in Auckland on the 6th November at the Auckland town hall.

Harry Styles – Love on Tour 2020

Live Nation presenting Harry Styles Australian and New Zealand arena shows for this November and December, following the earlier worldwide announcement of his extensive European and North American Love on Tour 2020. Heading to Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, these will be Harry’s first arena shows since his massive 2018 tour.

Tame Impala

Laneway Presents, Chugg Entertainment & Frontier Touring wish to advise that Tame Impala will be rescheduling the Australian and New Zealand leg of their upcoming tour to December 2020.

The shows, originally planned to be held in April, are no longer able to go ahead due to the current COVID-19 crisis and subsequent Government directives, limiting the size of public gatherings in both Australia and New Zealand.

Th’ Dudes- Th’ Bliss Tour

The Kiwi music icons will hit Auckland Town Hall this November.

Kiwi icons Th’ Dudes announce they’ll reunite for Th’ Bliss Tour, performing in Auckland in November 2020. The news comes just days ahead of the band receiving the Legacy Award and being inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.

Th’ Dudes are back in business! The Kiwi music icons will hit the road in November and December for 10 shows, performing for three nights at the Auckland Town Hall in November on the 19th, 20th and 26th at the Town Hall.

Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music

The worldwide sensation, Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music is coming to The Civic for a night of dress-ups and song in a rousing homage to the iconic 1965 Julie Andrews classic movie.

This event has been rescheduled to Saturday 21 November 2020, 7pm at the Civic.

A hilarious host will lead the vocal warm up and guide audience members through their free fun packs. They will also crown the best costume winner before the screening of The Sound of Music with on-screen song lyrics so everyone can sing-a-long.

So, get those vocal chords warmed up and get to The Civic for this international smash-hit sensation and a jolly good time.
